Brandow & Johnston Inc. has been providing Civil and Structural engineering, related professional consultative and forensic services to private and public sector clients in Southern California since 1945. Our staff of 40 strong, located in two offices, Downtown Los Angeles and Irvine, is proud to be identified among those who built the Los Angeles skyline we see today. We designed the first over height building allowed by ordinance after World War II, the first all welded structural steel office building, the city’s first major high rise and Wilshire Grand; the tallest building to be built west of the Mississippi in over two decades (currently under construction).
We have been involved with helping to develop the standards and code requirements for Tall building structures, hence, understanding the intent of the codes and their requirements to collaborate with govern bodies in establishing review criteria for buildings that exceed the limitations of the current codes. As we push the envelope of designs and think outside the box, we consistently collaborate with the owner and team to meet the vision of the architectural designers, meanwhile, always considering the impact on the safety of the public we serve.
As well established experts in the structural and civil engineering fields, we are often sought out by our peers to assist with projects that need innovative and thought provoking approaches to difficult problems.
Our state-of-the-art structural and civil engineering designs utilize the latest technology and software. As early adopters of BIM Modeling (Revit for structural and Civil 3D for civil) we have completed 30,000 projects and 500 of them using three-dimensional Revit Structure software.
At Brandow & Johnston, Inc., we listen intently to understand the client’s needs, commit to their success, and work diligently to exceed expectations. Our engineering services are responsive, innovative, and always mindful of the demands of time and budget.
