B&J Seeking Civil Design Engineer - Orange County, CA
We provide civil engineering and consulting services for projects with an emphasis on urban infill and School/ University Campuses. Projects types include:
Project Due Diligence, feasibility and Master Planning
Public works and infrastructure
Grading, paving and earthwork analysis
SWPPP Developer/Practitioner (QSD/QSP)
Stormwater Quality Management Plans (NPDES MS4)
Flood control and Hydrology/Hydraulic Analysis
Street, sewer, water and natural gas distribution systems
BIM/Site and utility 3D modeling
Responsibilities:
Provide engineering design, calculations, and preparation of plans and specifications in accordance with federal, state and local agency requirements and general engineering design standards.
Ability to establish and maintain communication, responsiveness and effective working relationships with design team, clients, consultants, and contractors.
Provide Construction Administration and support, including but not limited to resolving field issues, reviewing material submittals, and addressing contractor RFIs.
Meet, coordinate and provide processing with various utility companies, review agencies and municipalities to expedite project approvals and permitting.
Create and develop detailed engineering designs using CAD and Civil-3D software and other design tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints.
Perform calculations, simulations, and tests to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Generate and review technical documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and reports.
Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and outcomes.
Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and client presentations to communicate design concepts and progress.
Perform other tasks as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from accredited college or university; required
0-2 years of experience in the same or similar role
Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D; preferred
City/County of Los Angeles and urban infill development experience; preferred but not required
Knowledge of general engineering principals and general engineering design
